13 Classic Movie Musicals You Should Know

The classics. They are called that for a reason. These movies and performers paved the way for the modern film industry today. Even though some of these movies may be in black and white it does not diminish the art that is the Classic Movie Musical.

This era of musicals held many different players, but there were a few that stood out from the crowd; including, Gene Kelley, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Julie Andrews, Judy Garland and Danny Kaye. These actors were true performers and a force to be recokned with: a triple threat as some may say – brilliant actors, dancers and singers – not to mention a classic beauty.

This collection of 13 classic movie musicals are ones that I watch as a child, and still plan on showing them to my daughter when the right age comes around. The stories may have been rewritten several times over since the release – but the originals still hold strong.
